policy design and level of authorization related shared articles,

These days(2022/2~2022/3), my friend, F, told me, there is a
Company K, introducing themselves as a company of no need policies and work flexibly to
attract potential candidates in hiring talents. Moreover, they will invite key employees to join
significant business issues discussion and executing the consensus made
accordingly.
Per F’s request, this article is a sharing of my idea/opinion
about above management mechanism highlighted in blue for your reference:
My idea:Some management procedures or policies will
form themselves naturally, it is unlikely a company has no policies at all.
1.
K’s management team【has
already decided】:K is no need of management policies;in other
words, in K, the policy is【it is not allowed to establish policies】, or, K’s
policy is 【it is against K’s rule itself if it establishes management
policies】.
2.
K’s management team【has
already decided】:【We will invite key employees to join
significant business issues discussion and executing the consensus made
accordingly】, thus, this already standardized a work procedure for its
management, such as:
(1)
Define what type of things is【significant
business issues】.
(2)
Define who are【key
employees】.
(3)
It needs to invite (2) for (1)
then taking action for consensus made.
3.
Work hours and salary:In order
to complying with the law, K needs to define general work hours, overtime
hourly rate and taking leave, and all the defined rule is work hours and salary
related management policies.
Otherwise:Can an
employee request for 1 month pay rate but he/she only contributes 3 work hours
every month?
K
will answer this question based on a kind of rule; and the rule is the policy
related to K’s work hour and salary management.
4.
Expense payment request and its
approval:An employee requests for payment for his/her cost for work clothes
TWD50,000.-; this employee wears that clothes only for work, and hope the
company will pay for it and no need manager’s approval. Is this acceptable?
K
will answer this question based on some kind of rule or standard, and that is
the management mechanism/policies related to expense management in K.
5.
Product or service pricing:Employees
feel K’s charge is always too high to sale, so they decrease the number without
getting internal approval. Is this allowed by K?
K will
answer this question based on some kind of pricing standard. And that standard is K’s management
policy of its pricing procedure.
In all above【standard】, if there is nothing to comply with,
K needs to raise internal discussion every time issues occur and that spends
time cost;however, time is money, it is advised
the Company to define【tolerable
time cost】to measure
its work efficiency and benefit for their no policies management work environment
then to consider to build it up or not.
