Hi. This is Emily
from Taiwan, finance and accounting work background, the author of Whatsyouridea1996
blog.
Because of the
topic of this article, I would like to introduce my religion belief in brief first:
[Ahimsa], [the karma of killing], they are the information I received when I was studying something about Buddhism religion, maybe, there is some other religion also containing this kind of doctrine, I’m not sure about the overall situation; however, in terms of foods, due to living environment, I adopt a casual attitude towards it’s for vegetarian or not. I believe in karma, and in religion, it is including but not limited to Daoism and Buddhism, I believe in all religion who is promoting the righteous(e.g.: Those who not only provide guidance but also respect people making choice based on their own free will, they help people to seek for inner peace, equality, balance and harmony and make ourselves and others become a better person, those who also respect morality and official education provided by government, they enhance believers’ ability to realize and identify things rather than attaching to or waiting for the religions or a specific person to make decision for these believers etc.), however, I reject any religion which is related to threat and intimidation (threat and intimidation means: Do you remember something happened long time ago, the “lucky letter”?! Now something similar is created in the form of YouTube videos. Those lucky letters or YouTube videos are wanting people to pay attention to them, the moment you notice them, they are saying you must view their content, or things like you need to forward the information to others or click and view, they say, otherwise, you will encounter bad luck or lose good luck. This is intimidating or threatening others, or, it is a conditional love, it makes other people don’t feel comfortable, and, it works against the law of freedom in choosing religion and belief, I guess, that is some specific persons’ intention rather than guided by God or Buddha in religion. What’s your idea about this opinion?!)
On the other hand,
some people think that Buddhism or other religions are promoting the idea of [to
forgive people who have hurt you], [people need to forgive themselves if got
hurt], I think it is against the human nature, not natural, it is a kind of misunderstanding;
some people lost their lives due to others harmed them/there is no other
opportunity to talk about [forgiveness], some are mentally hurt and living in a
shadow side for a long time, hence, I think we need to start from [to release](some says: let go) negative
emotion to avoid immersing in painful emotion before talking about how
to deal with it respectively. How do you think?! It’s just like the stories
I've shared about things being dealt with unfairly on me at workplaces👉I hope people would know those experience and gain discernment
on things in aspects and dimensions to protect themselves etc., I also did something I felt unusual in the beginning: to chant sutra and do the
energy return to heal my mental health. There is a video, it says: It is not to pretend, it is not to
control or to suppress; a real powerful
person, their emotion or mood will not be affected by others 👈 I want to become this kind of person. In religion, if
people who have made mistakes and think they have done nothing wrong, not doing
repent, it is no need to talk about to [forgive] them, and they are in the
reincarnation of [the bad, no good] karma, and, those people/counterparts who
have encountered those hurt may be a kind of cleaning their own karma debt by
those suffering, or, they have gained this life experience and accumulated
bliss by sharing the gained wisdom with others. Do you agree it is possible?!
Back to the topic of this article, it was something I was considering when seeking for other work opportunities before, and, I also consulted to a Buddhism work organization and gathered related information for my making my own conclusion for reference. I’ve applied conclusions I share in this article to my daily life, though, not all the foods I eat is under my own decision( e.g. prepared by family members, not me; it is a treat or parties); thus, in some circumstances, I’ll share my related opinion, and they have the rights to decide they accept or not. In my idea, I think the way I deal with it is a kind of [ not to be responsible for the karma of others], [respect others’ rights of decision making], and, logically, in decision making, others can choose [they disagree], however, they cannot say [they don’t know] the things I’ve shared.
In those concepts I shared in this article, if there are
experienced or professional Buddhism or people working in the religious
professional field or masters considering my idea is not appropriate, please
comment or send email to me for correction, your opinion is also valued.
And, regardless your religious belief,
your preference in foods and your work environment, I would like to advise
people to cherish those foods offered to you and do not waste it, pay attention
to the hygience and safety of food, be grateful.😊
Thank you for your
visiting here.
(Because, in this article, I’ve already added my own opinion in it, I won’t reveal above mentioned Buddhism work organization’s name, I hope this could avoid their encountering unnecessary misunderstanding, though, its founder is a well-known person. Thank you for understanding.)
I also would like to share a song again: it is #ConfuciusSaid, the
singer’s name is #SuperBright0911 on Instagram.
I wish you career success;
”…no one understands,
you can ask God! “
In year 2023, does
this lyrics need to change as
“…no one undersands, you can ask AI!” 😆

This article is
short, there is only younger rainbow here, 5 colors!😆
1. Does it mean people who work for meats food companies are consenting to
killing lives?
2. Do not specify, reduce the karma of
killing.
3. Be
grateful, don’t watch.
4. All living beings are equal, do not say OOO.
5. Story
sharing and recipe videos recommendation.
Please choose
interested topic/colors and view below. Thank you.
1.
Does it mean people who work for meats food companies are consenting to
killing lives?
From what I’ve known, the answer is
no.
The decision makers of creating some
kind of companies or stores/business are the employers rather than the employees/office
workers. In religious’ principles of [not killing], the office workers who work
for meats food companies will not create their own karma or it is not so-called
working against their religious rule. They are working there for making money,
for living and supporting their family, if they narrow down their career scope
as [if it is food and beverage business, they need to be not involving killing!],
and there is a big possibility their work opportunities become not so many,
however, it is not the religious original intention or
principle to set restriction on our supporting our general daily life needs. (For example: There is a person of Buddhism belief, he has been
unemployed for a long time and causing living difficulties, he finds a suitable
work opportunity of a fried chicken store, should he apply for it or not?! Or,
there is only a meats store would like to hire him, and, does he have to accept
this job opportunity?!)
My suggestion is: because this person is unemployed and it causes his
living difficulties, thus, he surely needs to accept the job offering when he
gets that legitimate work
opportunity, and, the purpose is, at least, to make money for his general needs,
and this should be his first priority in life at that moment; this situation is
”similar” to Maslow's Hierarchy Of Needs, that is, firstly, we need to meet the
physiological needs, such as food and clothes, and, we can pursue what the
religious belief is teaching us to do if there is remaining capability! And, maybe, that job is arranged by Buddha
or Deity for this job seeker as his life mission is to indirectly influence
this business owner to build up another restaurant for vegan! 😊 I think it is
possible, what’s your idea about this assumption?! 😀)
I remember, there was a story about religion and life, it mentioned
a story about Buddha, it said, when Buddha was expressing his/her idea of life,
he/she was also doing begging for food beneath a tree, and, Buddha would eat anything others gave him/her; it didn’t say Buddha is vegetarian, and, Buddha didn’t say others [
must ] give him/her specific kind of food.
However, what about the employers of
meats food business?!
In the information I’ve gotten related
to this religious field, it is [this kind of business is not recommended], the
direction is the same as [ahimsa].
In other words, human beings are omnivore, it has been a long time people
eat meats and vegetables, if we expect people on earth all are [vegetarian],
we’ll encounter below issues:
(1) Not all the places
have enough plants as food for people living there; if we advocate vegan, what
will happen in food supply chain and population distribution in the world?!
(2) Issues of changes
in industries, employments and economics.
- What kind of jobs
can fishermen’s work expertise transform into as their next jobs?
- In meats business supply chain, how to apply their professional work skills and knowledge for another kind of valuable works and things and also create economic value?
- How long does it need to spend in this work transition period?
What is the better
way to react the change?! What’s your idea?!
(3) Balance: Now is
year 2023, we are [already] living in an environment with vegan and meats for a
long time, thus, when we are promoting ahimsa, [at the same time], do we also need
to raise issues about helping those non-vegan/meats related to change their
work business [at the same pace]?! We cannot ignore them after all, right?! What’s
your opinion about this?!
(4) What kind of
vegetable nutrition is equivalent to meats food?! Is this kind of topic making
people feel more flexible when choosing what to eat?
Please
nutritionists/experts, professionals in foods related industries share your
professional knowledge in this: ExpertsSay.
Thank you!
2.
Eat those has been in supplying;
to reduce the killing karma by not to
specify. Let the suppliers to
help you selecting randomly.
For example: In some meats vendors
or restaurants, they would say, in order to keep fresh of meats you would like
to buy, they will not slaughter the livestock until you order; I would suggest
you not to specify “this one…” or “that one…”, just ask the clerk to randomly
select for you…!
If you hope could know the reason…..👉hence,
indirectly, they become food are because they randomly be selected not because you want
them to be.
3.
Be grateful,
respect foods; do not watch the procedures of slaughtering, do not eat in front
of their same kind.
I’ve already known this kind of idea
is totally opposite as some food culture of some countries, some of them would
like to invite their guests/customers to watch in order to show their highly welcoming
or respects.
Cultures and opinions differ, mine is for your reference, too.
Regarding respect foods, in my opinion, in many occasions, we are able to
show respect not only when we are having meals. For example, in common protest
actions, there is pelting eggs or spilling paints, after that, we know it needs
lots of water to clean it up, and we are also aware it is a kind of wasting
resources, hence, to show our respect and cherishing food (eggs and water),
people choose other kinds of acts in protests; in the purpose of water
resource saving, does it also remind you of Songkran Water Festival?! It seems
like a funny activity, people do it for being in a memorial of something or
celebration or for purifying purpose, they will sprinkle lots of water
everywhere in the street, however, I also think of religious promoting [to cherish
the bliss], it means, to cherish what we’ve already had, thus, I [guess] those
sprinkling water is not what the religion wanting us to do, however, we need to
find out whether we can do other kind of things for its celebration or memorial
thing or purifying purpose rather than water sprinkling? What’s your idea about this?! Above
information is for your reference. Thank you!
4.
All living beings
are equal; do not say and do not think OOO is meant to be eaten by human beings
because there is no evidence supporting this kind of point of view, and there
is nothing good to no one by saying this idea.
Some people would like to talk about
food chain study in related topics, however, we are human beings, and we
are able to choose what to act. It’s all up to you.
5.
Story sharing: In the year my
dad passed away, I and my family decided to be one-year vegetarian to show the
respect and being in memorial of my father, however, after this decision, we
found it was not easy in our living environment, it was not easy to prepare with
whole foods, most of them are processed; at that moment, we were not aware of YouTube
could be a source of seeking for recipe, we appreciate our friends and
colleagues’ supports and encouragement to us for reaching this self-defined
goal of the vegan successfully.
In the procedures of creating this
article, I found two videos and would like to share with you. I hope you like

Epilogue: I
believe it is destiny leading me to the place I need to work for; I was not
hired by that company, it means we have no destiny to work together, however, maybe, that work interview experience was creating the opportunity for me
sharing this idea here. What’s your idea about this?!
