The consulting services described in this article are written policies, service quality management, computer system implementation and update, it emphasizes on consulting services related to internal control and management; my experience includes: in the work environment, the company has already hired an individual consultant, and, there was also consulting firms providing services for this company, and the company was requesting for implementing ERP system, and I was responsible for utilizing my work experience to support the company I worked for to select the systems vendors and to adjust the work organization and work processes structure, and, I possess contract consultant work experience…etc 👉👉👉When I was communicating with those consultants, an idea came to my mind, “I also hope I could be a consultant someday; at least, I will build up an article to share what’s happening now”👈👈👈I suggest you see this article as an one that you would like to share it with your top management team, because, those work experience I would like to share in this article was built up when I was in a work role representing for the top management department of the company I worked for.

1. Must read; it is very important, although, you may not encounter this kind of situation.

 

Based on those experienced I’ve met,please allow me to consult you/it may not be applicable to your environment, and, how you would like to answer?!:

(1)  Is the company's need to hire consultants actually an attempt to fill in the gaps in the competence of a certain professional manager?! Incompetence implies the unwillingness to take work responsibilities and a lack of knowledge of professional work scope. 👈👈👈If this is the case, a professional consultant would suggest you directly contact a headhunting firm to find other talent to fill the gap! Reason: (Assuming the employee's name is Q)

A.  The attitude of not willing to take work responsibilities: Q has already violated employment contract, the company and his colleagues need to spend time in proving what works belong to Q’s work responsibilities and Q is not willing to take the responsibilities, it becomes everyone but Q knows Q’s work responsibilities and Q [intentionally] ignores it. This company will become a professional investigation firm, and its client is itself, the target is Q and Q’s job.

B.  A lack of knowledge of professional work scope: Even if Q is not intentionally shrinking his work responsibilities, however, including Q himself, no one knows what other professional work responsibility belongs to Q but Q doesn’t know👈👈👈How Q passed the work interview in the beginning?! If it is the case, and, once there is work responsibility allocation problems and only Q never raises his hand and says what is his, he always needs reminder from others, then, Q is always in a role of waiting to be assigned tasks 👉👉👉In this situation, do you agree we define it as a lack of professional work ability?! For example, voucher work: accountants would raise their hands and say that’s their jobs, however, if the accountant is Q and he doesn’t know he needs to raise hand and take the work, is he also a professional accountant?!

C. Above A+B= a terrible situation, especially when Q is in a high work position, and most of the employees are not in high work levels, they may be afraid of reporting this situation to the higher level W, and, W’s professional work background is not the same as Q’s, it creates difficulties to W to find out Q’s situation.

 

In above situation, please consider: Once the causes you would like to hire consultants be resolved, will it also resolve those problems on your people?! Or, you will thing the problems solving work is still on-going/do it later, or, it can be ignored if no one talks about it again?! (Unexploded bomb! 👉 When things happen, please don't forget the decision you would like to make at this moment. Is it like a situation of bad money to drive out good?! Are those good ones excellent but currently just your entry-level staffs and are affected by Q every day?)

(2)  In your company, which work department is the most suitable one to be the project manager?!

A.   Q?! Q is already the one who doesn’t want to take the work responsibility, your company would like to allow Q to continue to escape from what he needs to be responsible for and you would like to redefine other work owner, or, you would like to use it as an opportunity to assign this work to Q by Q’s manager and tell Q your expectation on him in the future and to observe his work performance?! 👈👈👈Indeed, Q may quit, Q will know he is not eligible and cannot improve in a short period of time, or, Q will use this project work practice as an opportunity to grow. Which kind of Q your company has?!

B.   In those work scopes this article has mentioned, [on what basis] your company assign the project management work department or the responsible person?!

CFO says: Why it is my accounting department’s business of their Customer Relationship Management system implementation work?!!!

What is the purpose of implementing the Customer Relationship Management system?!

 

Therefore, has the purpose changed?!
