What is 【the most important thing】for
implementing E-Process successfully?
What’s your idea? This was one of the work interview questions a CFO -level interviewer asked me. I feel it is a great question because I didn’t prepare any related answers for it!😆
My answer is:
【Ideally and internally】, the company has【professional and well experienced】【IT】 members.
Reason:ERP is implemented by 「people」;
However, why【IT】?
This involves
in role and responsibility issue in the work environment.
Explanation of work Role and
Responsibilities:
For example,
when implementing IFRS->【ideally】, it is people in Finance role need to
take the work responsibility to handle it,
hence,
when implementing e-process-> 【ideally】, it belongs to IT’s work.
In recruiting, in work organization planning, work role and responsibility
is already defined by work professions, thus, we need to allocate work to
departments based on their work 【profession 】accordingly.
Because it is the【most important thing】, it needs to be conducted by professional person in this
work field. Take
accounting task as the example again:
When a company
is implementing IFRS or GAAP, the most important thing to achieve
implementation work success is to have a professional and experienced
accountant or team, the purpose is:
1.To【colloquially】explain【IFRS terms】and its impact on information presented in financial
statements, the change in accounting tasks for daily business transaction and
the influence on the way Accounting
department co-working with others.
2.1. Due to 1.,
this department/person need to be familiar with internal work culture and
environment in order to plan and do required work adjustment.
2.2.To ensure
daily work compile with IFRS after implementation work completed. Be the
contact person to know/receive work issues caused from compliance works, solve
the problems or arrange work training.
3.To define
and seek for appropriate IFRS implementation external work support resources. Such
as accountant firms with strong brand or excellent professional service quality
and to integrate work of 2.1 and 2.2.
In fact and it is common that many
companies skip 2 and do 3 directly, and after implementation work project
completed, they solve kinds of problems gradually with no dedicated work
department.
Back to the topic, the most important
thing for e-process implementation success:
【Internally】, the company needs to have professional and
well-experienced IT member(s), the purpose is:
1.To【colloquially】explain【system infrastructure or environment
terms】 and required comparison work, new and
old system conversion cost, influence caused from system conversion on work
efficiency and operation and required work change and its measurement.
2.1.Due to1.,
they need to be familiar with internal work culture and environment, and to
plan and conduct required work adjustment.
2.2.To ensure
new system can timely support daily ideal work efficiency after implementation work completed, collect work
issues and solve problems or arrange related work training.
3.To define
and seek for appropriate external work support and the resources. Such as:
Reputable or
professional with high service quality system software and/or hardware
suppliers or implementation work consultant and combine above 2.1 and 2.2 in
related work detail.
Again👉In fact and it is common that many
companies skip 2 and do 3 directly, and after implementation work project
completed, they solve kinds of problems gradually with no dedicated work
department.
