Hi, this is Emily from Taiwan, the author of Whatsyouridea1996.

After reading this article, maybe, you would like to call me「Ms. Silly」 rather than Emily！😆

Just like me, have you frequently encountered fake accounts contacting you in LinkedIn?! I’ve met more than 3 times. I think the only 1 root cause of this is I look silly, thus, there are always people using fake accounts talking to me！How sad it is 😭. I usually ignored their networking invitation or blocked the connected persons, however, recently, I’ve changed my mind for way I’ll deal with it. If you are in similar situation, please share with us how you handled it.

These people think I’m silly…

1.Telling me they were doing recruiting for international firms, including Taiwan listed companies, but providing me physhing web address and wanting me to click for filling up job application form.

2.They not only think I look silly but also feel I look like a person working for a post office, expecting me paying them money for their picking up postal package.

3.I need to study more because others think I look silly💪📚；there were doctors, lawyers contacting me, however, when I consulted to them about which book to study for their fundamental professional knowledge, they didn’t know how to answer, then, disappeared themselves immediately!

4.The pictures of those CEO and professional military man are very handsome, I asked them who the good-skilled photographers are, they didn’t know how to answer, either. And, there is another CEO of their company showed in LinkedIn, I’m so curious! What is the purpose of a military man showing himself in LinkedIn?! They are all from the U.S, what a coincidence!

5.It is very easy to change people’s appearance/pictures but difficult to change their tone/attitude of speaking. Do you agree with this?! －＞Since year 2018, some of my former colleagues/managers talking to me via fake accounts in LinkedIn, I really don’t understand what their true intention is?! Maybe they miss me a lot but feel embarrassed to let me know! 😍💕 I don’t know how long they will keep talking to me in this way？！I can do nothing if they don’t want to admit this…sigh…

6.Maybe they are slow typists. They usually introduce themselves as people growing up in the U.S or Canada, but their English is much more weird than mine😱；they initiated the talk, however, they gave no response in the middle for days；they were saying their interest of sponsoring my blog, but they didn’t do it at the end. I heard, in psychology, people in this kind of behavior are “manipulators”, they try to keep others’ attention via keep others waiting for their response, slowing down others work steps. I don’t know what they want after all?!

Is there anyone doing job search or talent hunting via Dating App?! Is it appropriate to search for dating partners in LinkedIn?!

Is it appropriate to search for dating partners /love relationship in LinkedIn? Everyone has their own opinion, however, I won’t do that.

Netizens in categories 1~6 above, usually, they would like to ask me about my marital status, relationship status, cellphone number or chat app account; I would like to thank them considering me as their potential love interest🙏😊 no matter what their intention is, but, I hope could know whether they think it is appropriate if their sisters or good friends reveal their own relationship status, cellphone number or chat app account to people they’ve never met and have great possibility to disappear next second while they are not aware of?　Or, it is surely because I look silly that people ask me these kind of questions and think I’ll answer them without any doubt?! 😫

Usually, I blocked or ignored these kind of people, but now, I’ve changed my mind and listened to friends’ advices：

A.Don’t respond, just focus on my own things.
